MILK: Daniel's Story

Daniel was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome at age 8. He had difficulties adjusting in a mainstream school and ran away from school on several occasions.
Shortly after joining Pathlight School, Daniel’s mother passed away. His father not only had to cope with his loss, but also took on the role of being Daniel’s main care-giver and emotional anchor. The MILK Bursary was then awarded to Daniel, but he struggled to settle in at Pathlight School in the beginning.

Through the teachers’ efforts, Daniel has made significant positive strides over the last 3 years. He now responds well to their guidance and is willing to modify inappropriate behaviours. Not only has he progressed academically, he has shown encouraging improvements both at home and in school. He enjoys better relationships with his father and classmates now.
